AC izvedbe kompaktnih rastavljača Ex9MSD koriste se kao glavni prekidači u različitim strujnim kolima. Prvenstveno su namenjeni za aplikacije u distribuciji električne energije. Ovi rastavljači imaju istu veličinu i dizajn kao i standardni Ex9M kompaktni prekidači. Odatle i mogućnost da se koristi potpuno kompatibilan eksterni i interni pribor uključujući produžene ručice, pomoćne kontakte, okidačke jedinice, motorni pogon i pokrivke terminala.
